desert sage x mary irene storytelling

I met Ginny Melby four summers ago?-ish when we both worked at the same conference center off the coast of Lake Michigan. She worked with the kids, I was in the office, and truthfully I think we only spoke a few times that first summer. Well, my first summer. Ginny grew up on that stretch of beach and I'd only discovered it the year before.

We didn't know then, that we would both face unrelenting hardships and losses. That from 2013 to 2018, each of us would experience unimaginable joy, pain, and love. It wasn't in the plan, then, to open our own businesses. Businesses that would one day support and further each others. It wasn't our plan, but thankfully, we weren't the ones in charge! :)

This time around, I got to be a very small part of telling this story for Ginny. One of the most thrilling stories I've ever captured on camera... One of love, of care, and compassion... the story of Desert Sage.

Ginny tells the story best, and truthfully it's her story to tell. "The how's and the why's of Desert Sage...."

While her artwork is exquisite, the care Ginny shows for each piece she creates, and for the clients who request them, is what sets this small business apart from all the others. Ginny doesn't simply letter cards and envelopes, she translates love and care onto a piece of paper for a gift that your loved ones will always remember.

Ginny launches her website in a few months, so follow her on Social Media, learn her story, and get some beautiful, beautiful artwork in your feed regularly!! As for my role?! I just took some fun photos of a gorgeous #girlboss, who has an amazing, moving story and THE BEST handwriting ever!!!

Xo,

Mary
